This is an image from a proxy direct from the camera. This happens on a MacBook Pro (Leopard), iMac (Leopard), and a Mac Pro (Tiger). The R3D file seems okay.

Could this be the card reader (SanDisk Extreme Firewire 800)?

***EDIT***
Actually, the R3D seems damaged too.
I have the same problem in RedAlert. The latest RedCine seems to throw my monitor out of range so I can't test that.

***EDIT 2***
The R3D file works fine with RedCine.

Irri,

I am seeing this also, but only in Leopard.
( OSX 10.5.1, QT 7.3.1)

It took me a while to figure out but try trashing the RED ALERT prefs, it seemed to clear up my issue.

But Like you the file seems damaged in RA, but does play fine in RC <.74>

Which prefs? /Users/username/Library/Preferences/com.RED.REDAlert.plist ?

It's a 16:9 4k file. QT Codec and RedAlert don't support these yet.

Good to see you posting Gary!!

But yeah, 16 x 9 4K not supported in Red Alert or QT yet per Graeme's email - I would think if ANYBODY reads release notes it would be you!!!

I see the same when creating DNxHD on Windows XP after changing the quality to low or setting the burn-in overlay to a different position or font size.
