Its a complete kit with everything you need to fly the Epic.
Includes 12 batteries to fly the Epic for 4x flights of 7 minutes long.
Has GoPro Hero3 as FPV Pilot camera on the Octocopter with smallHD LCD monitors on the Remote Control Tx.
Gimbal control with separate RC Control with LCD and video downlink to see Epic/Scarlet captured image.

You will not need anything else as this is a complete kit with everything.
Even has custom cut Pelican Case that carries the Octocopter & Gimbal for transport.

you need to put three of those 8000mAh beasties on the copter to get 7 minutes of flight, is that correct?

Yes 3 batteries when flying the Epic/Scarlet, 12 batteries in total so 4 flights.
If you're flying a DSLR you can fly with 2 batteries so get 6 flights.
The fast DUAL charger allows you to charge batteries and keep flying.
