  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

OConnor O-Grips

This looks promising, if you can tighten down the hand grips one handed. I've always looked for someone to replicate the Panavision system so much easier for the operator to get the hand grips right where they want them.

You can :-)

Pricing @ NAB.... or...?

I've never been able to have a price ready for a trade show yet... didn't want to break a perfect record :-)

Seriously, we're going through the data now and will have it down within a few weeks. It won't be ridiculous or out of line. But it won't be Ebay.

Since you can stack modules, there's also the option of starting "single-jointed" and adding sections later, when it comes to helping pocketbooks. Single-jointed can still do a full stepless half-sphere per side.

seeing Jim Elias have the possibilities to be productive is great.
great job on the follow focus and this jim!
seems that the time was right to switch from arri to ocon for you

thanks! someday I'll put up a list of everyone who's involved in these things -- every effort is collaborative. Anyway, Arri has a lot of talent and a lot of great products, they're going to do fine.

That awesome video should alone should sell you about 1000 of these, Jim. Well done!
Peace,

-Harry

These are the handgrips I’ve always dreamed about for my camera(s) and now I have them!

OConnor is the first to design a rod bridge which accommodates all three rod standards…15mm LWS, 19/15mm studio.

I’ll be privileged to show them to you @ NAB.

Stay tuned for more ground braking developments that will change the world of cinema…

Jim has never been a person to “toot his own horn.” He is IMHO (and many others ) THE BEST AKS designer of our time…and what a time it is! Great to see him here on REDuser.

It would probably amaze most to realize the influence he has had over gear commonly in use. Over the years we have become good friends and I am humbled to see my name next to his in the April issue of American Cinematographer.

Great! What is the overall weight? Also arm length? Thanks

The proto modules are 170mm long and weigh 320g. We are currently doing some simulation work to see exactly where we can safely remove material and reduce weight without affecting function or stability (the ball-clamp force generated inside the module is immense... we did a thinner-walled version and the housing tube literally stretched).
