I'm looking to get an Oconnor O Box, and am wondering which clamp ring will work with the Red Pro Zoom 18-85. The front diameter of the RPZ is listed as 142mm, but the closest ring size available for the matte box is 143mm. Does this work fine when tightened? I'm upgrading from a budget matte box with foam donuts, so forgive my ignorance about clamp-on systems.

I have the O-Box and have used the 18-85 several times. since its such a long heavy lens, you should probably have support on it, so you can just use rails instead of a clamp ring. I can't remember if it will hold on when tightened, but it works fine when attached to rails!

Thanks, guys. I have support for the lens, but having the option to clamp on it nice too.

I made my own ghetto clamp ring for the O-Box. Apparently there's a 150-143mm Clamp ring that O'Connor makes but it doesn't exist. I've ordered it from B&H and it came as a 150-134mm instead. When I asked them, they said that they can't seem to locate any 143mm ones. So I decided to use a bit of gaff tape and just make a pseudo clamp ring out of it. Holds just fine.

I had the same happen @ BH. I think I found it on the Adorama site. I think...
