Hello Everyone,

This is our latest Frankenstein creation…and it’s ALIVE!

We just wanted to do some due diligence before we commit to making it a “real” product.

These are ARRI standard size flat marking disks that are compatible with the OConnor CFF-1 and obviously a number of other follow focus handwheels in existence.

Should we make them a product?

Technical details to follow if there is enough interest…

Awesome idea, Eric.

Any chance to see an angled glow disc for the Arriflex MFF-1?

That's clever!

Thanks Lewis-

We weren’t the first to come up with the idea…it is just cost prohibitive to create the injection molding tool needed to make them; but since we have it already for the CFF-1 marking disk’s we figured hey let’s give it a shot!

Nope-

That’s a totally different size disk…maybe time to upgrade to a mini double sided unit with a full size knob?

Perhaps the OConnor booth at NAB may have something to your liking.

I've always wanted glow in the dark marking discs! I will buy some.

Great Jeff…

We’re thinking $30.00 List (our regular white disks sell for $24.00 list each currently in packs of 10) and these would also be in packs of 10. There would be some dealers who are willing to split them up and sell as one off’s. Is this pricing OK? It’s in line with what you would pay now for a comparable product BUT we offer a unique selling point over a boring plain white disk.

This is what a OConnor Glow Disk looks like in regular 5600K daylight…not quite white but close.

This is what it looks like after being exposed to UV and viewed in the dark.

this is awesome! I am hoping to upgrade my sticks and pick up a FF all from OConnor in a month or so.

Does the OConnor FF work with all Remote FF systems?

Ketch,

I’m loving that CFF-1 on Epic M8!

Shoot me an email at my address below with your shipping details and I’ll send one out to you when I get back from Costa Rica this Friday.

You have to promise to post some pics and let us know what you think!

I remember a FF unit that I believe was out of Europe somewhere a while back that had a LED illuminated wheel but it used a battery. Your's is neat because of the lack of power required. Except for a source of UV, but I seen those in hand held battery powered units that are popular with rock hunters.

The longer they are “charged” under UV light the more intense the glow reaction. We don’t want to publish the spec quite yet until we finish the testing but it’s a decent amount of time and can be refreshed quickly.
