I would like to convert the base of my Oconnor 50 to a 100mm ball for a new and modern tripod with a 100mm bowl. Is this a mitchell mount? How do I securely attache a 100mm ball to this head? Any suggestions?

Thanks,

See if you can remove the Mitchell mount and if there's a flat surface underneath. I had a O'Connor 50 and modified a Manfrotto 100mm bowl to fit. It was just drilling a few holes in the Manfrotto and it worked really well and was cheap.

Love my '50'

The base on mine is slightly different - yet the same - there should be a threaded hole in the centre:

The threaded post from a Manfroto 100mm (& sometimes i'll throw on a 150mm ball) just threads right in:

Snug & safe - easy
