I shot this today just to try out Crimson for the first time. It was such a pleasure to have my edit appear in Redcine like that. The way things should be!

I also haven't tried out phantom power since the latest version of Build 15 was released and also since receiving my new red mini xlr adaptor all in one cables. Well, there is still a hiss for me, or at least a different kind of hiss. I don't think I should have to put the gain up to 33db either. Before (with the hiss) it seemed good at around 24, I've tried both channels 1 and 2. What's the deal?

Red zoom, Sennheiser 416 with phantom power from camera.
Edited proxies in Final Cut. Crimson took my edit to Redcine and back for the final export. I think this particular thing looks fine in either 1.8 or 2.2 actually.

Did I miss anything?

Thanks for that introduction to the oceanharp, I have never heard or seen such an instrument!

I just remembered: I am getting over a bad virus/fever, I had some photophobia going on, and I was grading this with my cinema display's brightness turned all the way down! I am really into the washed out soft look of it though. But I just remembered that little nugget of information now.

It all depends on what you are doing. But I actually have no problem with the Red Zoom breathing at all, I like the effect. I also have Zeiss Superspeeds so I can have the best of both worlds though.. I like having both!

I kept the subtle rack in the beginning because i think if racking a little bit, and slowly like that, the breathing is really sweet. Again, totally depends on what you are doing. I like it though.

I agree Zak,

There is a lot of audible hiss in that clip, a lot.
But it is hard to tell what % is from the environment though...(wind in leaves etc...)

is this how they make those sounds in horror films?
