  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NYC Scarlets?

Dude! I've got THE BEST idea (despite that opener, I assure you I'm not high), I know some killer bands. Who's up for organizing a concert and filming it on like 5 to 10 Scarlets? My friend has a huge studio space in Brooklyn and all the world class audio gear we'd need. Try and tell me that doesn't sound like fun! It would also be some great promo material PLUS we can all send each other the footage and do our own edits. Who's down??

That sounds like a great idea! I'm up for doing something like that. Do you have any idea of the bands that would like to participate?

These, plus the two bands from my earlier post and one other band I haven't heard yet.
Really it's up to the studio owner which bands play. He'll be picking the bands and handling all of the audio, minus any scratch audio.
Speaking of the owner, he's going to Japan some time in the next two months. We should shoot for around July-August.
Thoughts?
 
I'd be interested in a meetup for sure. Though shooting a concert on a Scarlet at a meetup sounds like it would require people to bring cameras to participate and might not be that conducive to a low pressure environment for learning and discussion since it sounds a bit like unpaid work :P

It's not high pressure at all. The studio owner and I would set up all the audio and lighting. The bands are all really cool guys. We'd just be setting up our cameras, sitting back and enjoying a show. Def sounds more like fun than work to me. As an added bonus you can shoot whatever you like, take everyone's footage home and BOOM, free demo reel material. Plus it's a great opportunity to network. Even if this doesn't end up being the idea we use for the event it's definitely something at least a few of us should do. If anyone is interested please PM me

LOL we're all busy. The last thing I'd want is for anyone to feel like it's work. Stephen's idea is great I think, to have a shooting environment where we all get to see each other work with our cameras.

James - that would be awesome!! When do you think a good time would be for you? Some time in May? I have a number of confirmations from people on this thread, I can gather everyone and then we can take it offline
