I just got my X , turned it on and it already has 7 hrs of operation, is this normal, or this is return unit, did anyone else checked?
cuz i used to get cameras with 0 on the operation hours counter;

Epic arrived with over 7 hours of operation too. It's bench, burn & run-in testing.

Getting RED stuff is a little different to other camera systems ;)

And I prefer knowing about it, too. Standard procedure with other companies would be a counter reset. I believe it's a good thing to show that it has been checked and burnt in. Really it doesn't make much difference but this way you know what's going on.

RED even published a photograph one day of the first bunch of Epics on a rack for burning in. I wish all manufacturers did this, faulty electronics normally break during the first few hours and then they go a long time in most samples. Only the military is doing this for all electronics…
