  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I`ve got a GV100 on the way. The machine I use most just now has two Titan X Pascals running without SLI.

Mines on it`s way so I`ll try it with RCX and see how the single GV compares with two TXP`s (not running in SLI). Apparently the GV can be linked with a second GV via NVLINK2 which is a true bridging with software seeing it as one larger card. This in theory means bumps in other software that dont play nice with SLI. RCX takes advantage of multiple cards anyway so may not need the NVlink2.

I know the GV100`s havent been out long but wondering if anyone has seen one working with RCX?

Why did you go for the GV100? You can buy 3 Titan V's for that kind of money and they have almost the same speed as the GV100 with fp32 (RCX, Davinci Resolve)?

Titan Xp up to 12.1 TFlops, Titan V up to 14.8 Tflops and GV100 up to 14.8 TFlops.

Very interested to hear about this card... it does have a couple of resolve advantages over the V but what is the exact spec of your machine..

I suspect you will not be able to saturate this Gx card when working with Red files outside perhaps large raster output with complex TNR... and in that instance multiple cards don't traditionally help...

Also if you are mainly using Redcine (especially without a RRX) you are very likely to have too much GX card.. there is no operation in Redcine that I know that would slow even a Titan XP GX card down to the point where it chokes the CPU...
