  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Nuke 5 on the MAC ROCKS!

It's really sweet...
I've downloaded Nuke two days ago, after the Stu's post on Prolost.

Hmm... I get an error saying something about the licence file not beeing there but I cant really figure it out...

anyone got a hint?

Heres the errormessage:
Nuke has not been able to find a valid license. This may be because the
license file is incorrectly installed, your current license has expired,
or you do not have a Nuke license installed. Please check that you have
installed the license file in the correct directory (see below for more
details) - or contact sales@thefoundry.co.uk to obtain a free evaluation

you need an eval license

"Please check that you have

details) - or contact sales@thefoundry.co.uk to obtain a free evaluation
license, or license extension."

once you have it.

select the app and Show package contents

then put it in /Contents/MacOS/

you need to be an admin to do so

Nice....but $1100.00 for a "maintenance contract"? Sounds like an old Avid business model.

Thats a third of the price of the software.

Yep. Their business model is so 1994. It's actually one of the reasons I haven't switched to Nuke yet. That and Shake has been doing just fine for me, but I've got a project coming up in a month or two where Nuke will probably be a good decision. May just have to suck it up and go for it. The software does rock though.

Do we like Nuke more than Shake?

Mark - congrats by the way with all the successes you seem to be having with RED and your company.

Would you mind elaborating? I am just starting to look at Nuke and would love some detail from a user.

or anyone?

flameop good to see another phder here .
Mark is right Nuke 5 is so much prettier then 4.5 and fast on Intel .
Who needs Shake when you can Nuke it .
Shake costs now what a plug-in does so why not just get both and love life in semi-composite bliss.
