  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Since we aren't getting any teaser pix to tide us over, can you give us a sense of what aspects of Epic and Scarlet to expect? Should we expect an announcement only? Has substantive engineering work been completed? Does the program you're about to unveil span format, acquisition and glass? Will this include street dates and retail pricing? Will you cover fit and finish, third party accessories?

I think I have seen everything shot at 1000fps and I'm bored stiff. Nice effect the 1st time... If you still find it interesting, Photosonics or Phantom. Have fun.

BTW, I have a Photosonics for sale. Anyone interested?

For me... up to about 150fps can still is interesting. And it can be used to shoot something "real" for a nice effect. 1000fps is a setup studio shot with a TON of light. Seen one, seen them all. How can you watch more than a few seconds of uber-slow motion? I have the attention span of a ferret. Too much for me. That spinning dragster tire was painful to watch...

I am quite sure there are exceptions where a super slo-mo would be cool. Not sure what, but someone will find it. RED won't be the camera taking the shot in the next few years.

Yes, the Vision Research Phantoms are great Cameras.

I can see why RED needn't enter the ultra high-speed market, though.

I still very much enjoy super slow-mo when used properly, but easily a simple rental only when needed.
