  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Not realy a complaint but a design request.Power Cable.

Look, I love Red, but some of your design decisions are really questionable. I am frankly just really pissed that you guys are changing the power cable for the new cameras. I mean WTF? You can't use any of the industry standards that have been in use for 20 years, and now 2 years after the launch of your first "obsolescence obsolete" camera, my battery plate, my steadicam power cables, basically any power solutions I have invested in my 2 Red cameras needs to be replaced.

Love my Reds, love the company, love the concept, but I don't understand the disconnect between good design and eye candy.

Anyway, just had to vent, sorry.

Unless I am completely off my rocker, they announced that they are changing the connector for the new cams, to yet another non standard connector.

So you will need an adaptor cable to connect them. You would likely need something anyway to make the current cable long enough to reach.
