  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Anybody know why 2x Epics would go out of "sync" at 12fps? TC and Gen Lock hold and RedCine can auto mux the L and R files with a -2 frame offset, but the "sync" doesn't seem to get into phase. Been able to keep sync all the way up to 72 fps too and I feel like it stands to reason that getting "sync" should be easier the lower the fps...

I thought I read that sync was only possible at multiples of 24 fps (and perhaps a couple of "special" rates, 25fps and 30fps).

When you're feeding genlock to sync two Epics (and scarlets), each frame is synced to the pulse at the genlock rate.
When you go to a multiple of the project rate/ genlock rate, Epic/Scarlet can sync to those multiples.
When you drop below the project rate / genlock rate, there's no way to synchronize cadence of which frames to drop.

With 1.7.9, you can send a sync pulse into to both cameras to do off speed recording at any rate (up to half of the max frame rate)
with arbitrary timing.

Also with 1.7.9 you can sync with genlock up to max fps now. Make sure you run a black shade
after installing and userHS is showing in the calibration screen.
