How is it possible that some clips only have R3D files in their folder?

There are no Quicktime Proxies in the folder after we shot and checked the drive on the computer (all latest codecs, plugins installed). On the same drive we still had some old material. After we shot some new material, only the new material didn't have the proxies in their folders.

The camera is running build 17 and our Mac has all latest plugins and codecs installed.

Check if it's switched off in the camera.

Hi Mark!

Is it all the R3D files that didn't have proxys with them?
Have you accidentally switched off QT proxys in the project menu?

It could also be write issues to your media. The QTs are the last thing to be written at the end of a take - so if you had major write issues during the take it may not write the QT ref files.

It could also be that the camera was powered off or the drive removed accidentally during a take ... but you'd notice that.

Of course, it being switch off in the menus is the most likely culprit.

It is bug and I've seen it in Build 16 as well as Build 17.

Thanks guys for all your replies.

I checked on the camera and the writing proxy option on the camera was switched on all the time. Never switched it off in between. The shots we took the same day, different time, did have the proxies.

Might've been a bug in the firmware as gbalaji had.
