No NAB for RED...

Im actually glad to hear this.
If a product is as good as it says it is, serious people will take the time to find out more. I know all my friends when I talked about the camera to them all went to the web site and then asked to get their hands on mine for a little test drive.
Im sure the RED Days will be able to better feature RED's products as to running around and waiting in lines and then realizing that you have no time to see products you really came to see, Kind of like surfing the web.

There will be plenty of people attending NAB, don't worry about it. There is plenty to check out there. Especially companies with full lines of working cameras to test right now. NAB is much bigger than Red. And that is reality.

Actually, I think RED should still have a presence at NAB. No booth, no problem, many companies have decided against that in the past...

How about a RED sponsored party with a huge Projector Screen with RED Footage and separate rooms with demos of new RED Products and 3rd Party products?

This is SO much less expensive than a booth and the RED community could still network... and party.

Maybe the REDUsers interested in attending could help pitch in for it, along with RED.

Let's hold it at the new RED Ranch.

I think it's worth consideration, what do you think??

There will be a RED camera in practically every booth - with plenty of companies waving the "we have RED/R3D support" flag ... the last issue of POST MAGAZINE had the word RED on virtually EVERY SINGLE PAGE.

RED has a pretty damn good "presence" these days.

The "producer" on the high profile NBC spot I'm on, was prattling on about how great the RED camera is "supposed" to be today. Yeah, even the chumps are finally starting to come around. F them...wanted to say that all day. Biatches.

Obviously we were excited about seeing the new gear up-close, but I think we were also anxious to see how everybody outside of reduser would respond.

Nevertheless, it certainly would be pointless if the gear's not ready for demo yet.

If anybody with any juice at the major hotels knew maybe it would be in their interest to sponsor RED with a booth and hotel stay.

That's quite a gutsy move Jim....thou it seems unlikely a dark horse in the eves will grab any limelight (hopefully not). The Red1 wave is rolling along happily.
Be nice to have some major Red/3rd party software releases at NAB as consolation thou.
