Hey Guys...

I set up the RED (build 30) to be used in class today. For about an hour everything was fine. However, after a quick break and a re-boot, no light/image was being seen on either the viewfinder or the monitor. The aperture was open all the way and the lens cap was off. I re-booted a couple more times and even reset the camera (via the menu) to factory settings. Nothing, nada, zip.

I did see the menu on the VF and could get bars to appear. However, no matter what I tried I could not get a spec of light to appear. Pretty hard to imagine given the fact that I had a 2K set up.

Any thoughts? I need to get this remedied by 9am tomorrow. I got 16 students itching to start using the camera :)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Try selecting image magnify on and off a couple of times on either the viewfinder or on a user key assigned to magnify.

Make sure you also Che k your fan settings. I wonder if that is an overheat.

Thanks Guys.

Eric...that was one of the first things I tried. No dice. Thanks for help though.

What Dan Boyd said, and maybe also reinstall the latest released firmware (followed by a black shade calibration). Sounds like a real problem though... which means sending it in. Best wishes!
