I was just talking to my video editing system VAR and they were planning on doing some tests as soon as they get a camera, but I said they sould be able to test as soon they can get some RED footage-fileage.

Any reason they would need a camera for workflow testing?

The have been building Mac and PC Fibre SANs for years.

If they're going to also be responsible for managing data on set. Yes they would want a camera to test exactly how they're going to get it off the RedDrives and CF cards. How they're going to index it. How they're going to get it to the post facility etc etc.

If they're just managing hard drives delivered from the field, just footage should suffice.
