No Audio Playback in RedCine?

I have a producer out in the field in the Canadian wilderness who is having trouble trying to monitor audio that has been recorded to my epic x.
All seems fine monitoring directly on the epic - audio sounds good and the levels show audio is there but playing back with RedCine there seems to be no audio.
Hard to troubleshoot this far away so i was wondering if anyone has experience like this and might have an idea what might be the problem?

He's using the latest redcine-x pro beta right?
Has he the correct camera audio tracks selected in the audio panel (usually found on the etc tab)?
What if he exports bwff and plays the wave files to ensure he's able to get any sound out?

not sure which version they have but I advised that if possible they should try to update to the latest version and try to export to see if audio is output.
internet connection is not so great out in the wild though but - no update yet so hopefully no news is good news. thanks for the input!
