  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

No 21

these are my best guesses, honest..

onboard red4k codec recording mode.. or maybe

Super VHS outputs.. er, I'll have to think longer and harder sometime

I think it's a bottle opener! That way, even when you are relaxing after a great shoot, once again, your camera is there to help you out in every way possible, by opening up that non screw cap beer you've been lusting over all day.

:)

absolutely agree!

I am fairly sure Jarred meant we all get a copy of the movie "21" on all the EPIC cameras - installed in the menu ofc. :sosp:

might not be #21, but I was thinking about a cool feature. Now they have said we can set focus points and set the camera to automatically rack between them (I think). It would be awesome if to set up your focus points real fast you could use autofocus and then hit a save button to save it as a focus point. Do it again with another point using autofocus real quick, flip over to rack focus menu and dial in the time it takes to rack between and then hit autorack. I know this wouldn't be perfect but it would be a great way to set up focus points and do a quick rack focus or a follow focus of a man walking from a distance at a steady pace (Lawrence of Arabia).

might not be possible, might not be desired, just thought of it the other day as a time saver rather than dialing it all in. Though this may already be a feature red has set it up to allow us to set focus points.

#21 film contest would be fun.

I also have a request - Ability to duplicate pixels to "dead pixels" without sending back the camera in.

Very simply: No 21 is NO 21 (as in the opposite of YES 21), due to the firmware problems the 21st feature has been disabled.

...it was supposed to be cut in at 1:21.. because you all know #21 is such an important number, but i think the fade in shifted it 1 second, which together in itself is ironically another hint...

Jarred posted the above hint in the Entourage thread. Guess away guys.

Could it be a way to shoot 21:9 (2.35 'scope) without anamorphic lenses through some kind of weird pixel mapping?

Huh! Shot transitions like in a handycam! Way coooool!

Edit: I'd still rather have the bottle opener

Feature 21 is The Bug. Recently enabled (unfortunately) and soon to be shot in the head.

#21, in camera editing?
