Earlier this year I had the opportunity to fly to Japan and tell the story of the NISMO brand for Nissan. I produced, directed and DP'ed this project for the Designory. The first film focuses on the human element behind the NISMO name. We got to film for 2 days at a track with their AS1 driver, Hiroyoshi Kato, The Godfather of the R32, R33 and R34 GTR. Amazing to ride along with him and see him push the car to its absolute limits-all while casually steering with his "3-finger" technique.

From the track, we went to their Oppama plant and captured the NISMO cars being manufactured. They get build alongside the standard vehicles and then get pulled off to another building to get the NISMO touches. I geek out on manufacturing, so this was like heaven for me. :). Last, we shot at the Omori Factory- a legendary tuning shop where they do everything Nissan. Some of the cleanest GT-Rs I have ever seen...

And last- we slapped a GoPro Fusion into the car to capture a lap in 360. Great image quality, TERRIBLE piece of hardware. Nothing but issues with it...

Such a rad project- honored to have been a part of it...

Shot on RED Epic-W with Canon CN-E glass (and some SIGMA Cine zooms). Camera car setup was a Weapon with Fujinon Zoom on an Audi RS6 with Shotover G1 on Black Arm. Edited by the Designory.
