hi,

i have a situation here.

we rent a ninja blade device to record prores files directly from the RED EPIC.

but when i connect it to the red (HDMI) it says it doesnt get input signal. but when i try it with a canon5d it does.

so im guessing its some kind of setting inside the red but i cant figure it out exactly.

can anyone walk me trough a little?

would be greatly appreciated!!

Not sure if this is your exact problem, but I have found that the Red Epic HDMI output is one of the least compatible HDMI signals around. I have more devices that work with other signals but not the Epics than I can count. Once you narrow down what is compatible all is good, but I have heard that the epic HDMI signal is not a standard signal. I havn't tired it the with blade before though. I would contact Atmos and see if they have any suggestions.

we've fixed it but not really in a convincing way. at some point we tried to set the output hdmi resolution to 720p and 50 hertz/frames and that worked well. but we wanted 1080p and 25 frames. so later we tried 1080p and 25 frames one more time and then it suddenly did work. very strange, maybe we missed something but it works so we're cool :)

thanks anyway!
