Hey everyone,
I have a Nikon Mount for all my DSLR Nikon cameras for my Red Dragon.
I recently purchased a set of ROKINON 35mm T1.5 and the 85mm T1.5 Cine.

When i mount it to the dragon, the lens aperture ring is pushed and locked at 1.5.
Has anyone else had this issue?
I have been able to use the lens by only turning it half way then tightening the red lens lock but that is not really ideal. Is this a common thing for Nikon and ROKINON users, or is there something wrong with my lens or lens mount?
Thanks
Ken

You know, I have noticed this as well.... I take my lens right before it clicks in, and then tighten the mount ring, and that keeps the aperture working, but yeah, I don't like being on set explaining that to people, lol.

Ok. so its not a fault specific to my mount or lens.
I am checking some footage from it now, and it all looks sharp.
If you stop down to T22 then look into the lens as you mount it, you will see the aperture ring start to get forced open.
For anyone else considering buying a Samyang or Rokinon with a Nikon mount please note this is an issue.

I own the full Nikon set, but I haven't had an issue like this... Though, I do remember a few stiff aperture rings that eased up after a month of use. (Nothing that ever needed much force to move.) I'll have to check my blades at T22, but I'm assuming yours are moving because of the pressure.

Also, if you haven't read yet - be sure to consider the bottom end these lenses a T2 when opening up, because T1.5 is typically a bit softer than expected. Hope you figure out everything, and hopefully the Rokinon mount eases up over time, as it's not the strongest build ever!

I have had a similar issue with my Nikon Mount and Rokinon lenses. It happened during a job so I removed and replaced the lens a few times and cranked the lens to wide open before I put it on or I cranked it fully stopped down before I put it on and it started to work properly. Can't remember the exact combination but its something to try. I had forgotten about it until seeing this post.

If the iris control on the nikon mount is in the middle, the tab can interfere with the manual iris on lenses. Take the lens off, and move the tab all the way to one side or the other by "iris open" or "iris close" on the dragon. Once you see the tab is all the way over to one side re mount the lens. This wasnt an issue for me until recently either. Must be a firmware thing. I am using dragon + zeiss zf and zf.2 when i have this issues.

I've had this issue with my canon fd lenses. Did you line up all dots? Line up all dot on lens to the dot on the mount then turn bottom of lens until click. Test f stops, another way is to check the shutter on the lens and move to different f stop then mount it.

I've just uploaded a video of what happens when i mount a lens (set at F22) as i rotate the lens to lock in place, the aperture ring is pushed open so you cant stop down.
I've just had to leave the lens unlocked and just tighten with the red lens grip.
