My Nikon mount is kinda interesting.

All the Nikon FX lenses I have that are on the DSMC list work fine, although we often have mount and unmount a lens for the aperture to engage and open up.

My Tokina 11-16 MKI is always stopped down, the electronic aperture doesn't engage with the camera. This renders the lens useless on the Red Epic.

However the Tokina works fine on my Nikon Camera bodies.

My Nikon 10.5 F2.8DX fisheye also doesn't seem to work in terms of the aperture on the Red Epic Nikon mount. (But works fine on the Nikon Bodies)

Both these lenses are DX, is this just a co-incidence ?

We also have another Red with the Canon mount and this seems to work just fine with the Canon lenses.

Anyone else having the same issues ?

Lastly we always shut the camera down for a lens change, is this really necessary ? I imagine it's best practise but what do others think ?

Thank you all for a great community.

Warmest wishes

Adrian

Both my Tokina 11-16 MK1 and my Nikon 10.5 work fine with the latest builds on both of my Epics, meaning that iris works but no focus. I had iris problems with some earlier builds.

Thanks Russ, I'm currently on the latest 5.1.51

Anyone else having issues?

None of my Nikon G series lenses (even the ones on Reds approved list) seem to work with my Epic in terms of aperture control though the camera. Does anyone else have this issue? I'm using the latest firmware 5.1.58

Does anyone else have this issue?
