Hey all,
Just reaching out to anyone here who uses the Nikon mount on the Dragon. I've got the AL version (genuine RED part) and I'm using the 14-24 and the 24-70 which are both listed as supported lenses in the user guide however when I attach them I get an unsupported lens notification. It then performs a manual lens calibration which is fine but the focus motor is extremely erratic.
I've never noticed it before as i use manual focus either by hand or by a motor driven follow focus when on a gimbal/crane etc.
I've just purchased Foolcontrol and when using the focus control via the app the lens was jumping back and forth extremely quickly and making a lot of noise. I thought it may just be the app so I tried the internal auto focus on the DSMC itself and that too is erratic and fails to pull a focus at all.
Anyone else experienced this? The lenses function fine on my Nikon DSLRs however its all over the place on the Dragon. I'm using the latest firmware as my brain just arrived back from RED and it received the tick of approval and 12 months armour.
Just want to check in the forum first before contacting tech support, a few searches didn't bring me much information and I've seen videos of a lot of people using the Nikon mount with success so I think I may have a dud lens mount or something.
Thanks in advance.
