I've recently purchased the Nikon mount for my Dragon and I can't get manual control of my iris as I have before which leads me to believe the mount is doing something with the iris motor.

I did try control the iris through the menu but that doesn't do anything either.

I fly my Dragon on a Drone and need to control the Iris manually via a lens gear with my MoVi gimbal and MoVi Controller.

I'm on the latest camera build 6.0.23
Is this a bug in the firmware?

The lens I'm using is a Nikon 17-35mm F2.8

Hi Rory, some people have been having trouble with this firmware, Canon and Nikon mounts. I myself have extensively tested it out with an Epic-Dragon and Canon mount and lenses, but was unsuccesfull at taming the beast... so rolled back to 5.3.42. Here is a link to some people discussing Nikon mount related issues:

Hi Rory,

Have you tried setting your camera to F22, and then attempted to control the iris manually?

i think it looks like some bug.snuck into the control of electronic lenses in this build. nikon and canon alike. if it's critical, best advice is to roll back until its solved. if you can work around it... you can.

I think there is also a mount update in this release as my mount did do a FW update when I did the upgrade. I pretty much only use it manually but I have not had any real problems as yet with this build.

Thanks guys. I tried rolling back and nothing worked. Even went back as far as 5.3.29
Setting the iris to F22 in the menu does give me manual control again... but what the hell is that all about?

Its been like that as long as I can remember with the electronic mount. To use it manually it has to be set to f22 in camera.

I was so excited to read this, I have SIGMA 18-35 Iris issues. But the lens just goes until f16 :undecided:

You guys think they can fix it soon? I tried to downgrade, but no luck, not working even with firmwares it worked before. Maybe it is the mount firmware itself that causes the issue, I have no idea.
