Red One - Nikon Lens Recommendations.

I have heard the best from Nikon Ais Series: 50 1.2 and 28 2.8 are pin sharp light and nice to your budget.

One issue with this typical Fullframe, APS-C sizes is the cropfactor in 3k60p. It has 2.3x crop (like BMCC ;)

So looking into other lenses it seems to be hard to find ones below 20mm

The Nikon Ais 20mm 2.8 is reviewed not very well on photo review sites, but is seems to hold up ok on some vimeo entries.
Below 17mm I have no idea. 15mm Zeiss is probably too expensive for just 2mm difference.
The Sigma 8-16mm is amazingly sharp for that crop (BMCC tests) but has no manual aperature (I own it for canon crop cams.)

I would like to hear recommendations.

In particular I'm interested in this lens: AF-S NIKKOR 17-35 mm 1:2,8D ED
It covers a wide range (cropwise), has manual aperature. But I never saw it used by anyone.
Are there any opinions on this one?

Cheers

14mm f/2.8 prime and the 14-24 zoom are excellent. As is the Tokina 11-16. Also Nikon 24mm f/1.4 is excellent, even wide open...

Thank you.
Good the hear feedback on the Nikon 17-35mm =)
I heard great things about the other lenses mentioned here.

But wait:
Tokina 11-16 & Nikon 14-24mm have no manual aperature, so we can use it only at the lowest aperature..
That would be a big limitation.

Or am I missing something here, is there a workaround that is impossible with these style of lenses on Canon?
How to use it on Red One using different iris settings?
