I finally got my PL mount off and got to try out the Nikon mount and I have to say that those Nikons are kind of fun to use. They have a use for certain effects. Plus they cost way cheaper than a set of cinema primes. Most of these clips were shot with the 35mm and the 85mm. The shot at the very end was shot with the 20mm. The first two shots where just the light coming off the flames and the next two were my kitchen light. The last two are lit with a small 1K soft box off to the side.

What did you use to compress these? They look a bit more compressed than what we have been seeing lately.

Otherwise, they look good. Just got my mount, and will be making the switch today and begin trying out mu Nikkor kit.

Yeah I noticed the compression artifacts more on these clips as well. I used QT to do the compression just like everything else that I've posted. Might be the dark grads that are messing with it.

Dude you love guns very much :bye2: .. are you ?

Am I what? I think guns can be fun and very enjoyable, if they are respected. A couple years ago I wasn't into guns and didn't really care for them. But then I decided to learn how to shoot and have the tools that I believe necessary to survive if a major disaster hits. Seriously, the event that made me want to learn how to handle a firearm safely was hurricane Katrina. That to me was a prefect show of how the government would deal with a destructive event in a localized area. Now if something worse happened we would really need to be on our own. (ie. Zombie Invasion):sarcasm:

If you have an aversion towards something, such as firearms you should try and figure out why you have that in your mind and you will learn that there is nothing to fear but fear its self. Plus shooting can be fun believe it or not.

But back on topic of the Nikon mount. People that haven't tried it or think that its not realistic to change the mount out on a set, I disagree. The hardest part of putting the Nikon mount on was the screws and the SI wire in the camera. It took me less than 10 minutes my first time changing the mount. I'll try and get some stuff in the day here soon. Maybe today or tomorrow.

Changing the mount was a breeze. I tried my Mcmaster hex key first, but went to my Husky set next and that felt much better. Trimmed the connector a tad to fit it into the slot, and bam it was on and I shot some footage tonight. Nothing earth shattering but a lot of fun. I'll post something if I can get it to compress well.

Interesting point Drew about being prepared in the event of an emergency and all hell breaking loose. I'm heading over to my father-in-laws place if that happens. He's got quite the collection.

All I need to do now is get a set of torx head screws that are the right size and length for the PL mount. I don't think the ones for the Nikon mount will fit. But I haven't tried it out yet.

I try to be prepared as possible without going too nuts on the whole thing. I have a bag with medical supplies, ammo, food and gas masks ready to go. I just need to fit some water somewhere in that bag.
