Hello,

I'm about to.... if this works buy myself a Red One.

My question for you is, does the Nikon 14-24/2.8 and the Nikon 24-70/2.8 both with itergrated iriscontrol work on the red one with red's Nikon Mount they have?

Please respond,

/ N

With the current Red One Nikon mount the lens will not electronically communicate with the camera. However, optically, both of those lenses will work beautifully with the R1 camera.

i do have my real name? my name is Niklas and as it says in the thread, if i dont like to spoil my name i could just simply use one of my names, and thanks for the advice.

Do you know how i control the iris with the nikon mount if i have, for example the 14-24 with built in iriscontrol?

these lenses do not have an iris ring so you will not be able to change the iris on the current red mount. Do these lenses have the usual lever at the rear element of the lens that controls the iris? If so, I would recommend optitek's red nikon mount - it works beautifully and holds the lens very securely. You can find it at http://www.optitek.org/nikon-prolock.php

Thank you for the advice, i have ordered the nikon mount from RED now and will be shooting with nikons primes with a "real" iriscontrol.

The Optitek Nikon Pro Lock is a great mount. You can use the iris control ring to adjust the aperture on AI-S lenses as well as G lenses. You won't want to go back to the factory Nikon mount.

Optitek's Prolock Nikon mount is superb. Been using it for over a year and love it. Beautifully made. No need to de-click Nikon "non-G" lenses either.
