Wondering if anyone's tried the 200-400mm f4 Nikon on the Red Nikon mount? Be good to know if it works, and if the VR is powered? Don't see it on the currently short list, but plenty I've tried that are unlisted work fine...

John,

I have been using Nikon 200-400 lens and it focuses but not perfectly. It is out of focus.

I think it is my Epic because most of my Nikon lenses on the Red Nikon TI mount do not go all the way to sharp.

I am used to hyper focus so it gets me in the range then I tighten it up!

The VR comes on but I do not use it on a tripod!

The iris works very slow and I need a minute or so inbetween changes on the rockers. Fastest way to change iris is in the top menue!

I assigned a fast key to bring the iris up!

Hope this helps!

Love the Nikon 200-400!!!!!!~

Hello

I also have and use the Nikon 200-400 V11 on my Scarlet. The iris changes do work very slowly. As Kennan stated, the fastest way to change the iris is to use the iris top menue. Unlike Kennan, my Scarlet with the latest firmware will not auto focus this lens. I use the Red 9" touch and a FSI 17" to get good focus in the field (bush). When you are shooting over 100 yards I get better quality pictures using no more than 4:1 compression.

I only use Nikkor 200-400 in manual focus mode but delighted no back-focus issues...so far at least.
