I have released the next iteration of Clipfinder 2.2 beta.
It contains 2 bug fixes and the ability to open R3D files in Clipfinder by double-clicking.
See the "What's new in Clipfinder 2.2" section in the integrated Help Pages (CMD-i) for details.
The new version is available from my website http://www.daun.ch/software

Cheers,
Hans

I just started a new feature in Philly with the producers of the Napolean Dynamite film and found REDRUSHES to be a bit buggy on the new Macs after testing on the new machines for the first time in prep. I have to admit I wasn't much of a Clipfinder user until two days ago but I must say how absolutely brilliant this app is!
I am using it on this show to do all the dailies. I am also using it as a log for editorial by adding scene info and notes into the comment section.
Hans, it would be great to be able to add customized tabs like Slate/Clap mark fields etc to better help with the logging notes to editorial although I'm sure that is not how/why it was designed. Anyhow, great work and thanks for the fabulous tool!

Thanks, Hans! Great that we can now just double-click to open it. You've easily surpassed what RED Rushes & RED Alert can do...with only White Balance left!

You mentioned this was difficult in another post. Is it not something you can get a little help with from RED? Nothing in the SDK that could help this?

So...not to bug you or keep harping, but you have a great all-purpose app if it did 2 things down the road:

-Add white balance to the image tool
-Add a conform that uses the in-out from the XML doc

Once you get those, I don't want to shoot myself in the foot, but if I were you, I'd start charging. :-)

Thanks again for everything. Awesome app.

Kevin

I think what you mean is in there already! Go to preferences then to 'custom fields' and make a slate tab, then to 'show columns' to turn it on.

Mike,

It sounds like you are using Clipfinder 2.1, which has only a single comment field.
Have a look at Clipfinder 2.2. There are 10 custom fields, much better integration with FCP and better support for logging and reporting.
Be sure to read the "What's new in Clipfinder 2.2" section in the integrated Help Pages (CMD-?).
Clipfinder 2.2 is still in beta, but it's been in testing for a few months and is reasonably stable.

Kevin,
I hear you. We'll get there.

Cheers,
Hans
