Hello all,

Sorry, very new to Red.. I am an FCP editor who was contacted yesterday.. to see if our Post House could handle a Red edit..I have seen the camera and technology, and am aware of it..(Wow)
Anyway just looking for some basic info.. If the customer shoots , can they send us the Compact Flash cards to import the footage?? What hardware do we need to bring this into our Intel Mac Pro ?? Is the compact flash reader unique to Red???(We have the latest version of Final Cut Pro installed) Is there any other way they could send us footage?(move from flash to Firewire/USB drive etc...) Any advice would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks..

Hi Mike

Flash cards can be transferred with a regular flash card reader, i use a Sandisk Extreme firewire 800. But you don't really want the client sending you the original media, unless it's already been backed up, and if that's the case it would be easier for them to simply send you a portable harddrive with all the files on.

Hope that helps.
