Our company bought a RED ONE to create long form nature videos for display on large HD monitors. The finals are feature film length, but do not involve the editing of many scenes, instead they require meticulous cleanup, patching of bad moments in the single long shot, and precise color finishing. Based on this use, what would folks suggest as an ideal hardware/software platform for moving the RAW footage from camera to final HD mpeg2 with mp3 transport layer for audio.

We've started with Adobe Premier on PCs, but are looking at building an Apple editing station if that is more appropriate to our situation.

Any thoughts? Advice and opinions much appreciated.

I would use Red alert and Red Rushes to go to QuickTime ProRes444 Or proRes HQ edit with Final Cut for the easiest cheapest solution. If you want realtime get the new Red Rocket card.
