I would like to thank Peter at www.RPlens.com for all of his help. The quality and value of the glass was much more important to me than the mount so I decided to save about 30K on my lens purchase and go with converted Zeiss ZF lenses. I am amazed at just how smooth they are. This is the Ziess ZF package that we put together with the Nikon Mount.
18mm, 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and a pristine 135mm Nikkor.
Very pleased. Looking forward to shooting with them. Thanks again Peter.
Lee,
How have these lenses been working out for you? Happy with your decision still?
All the best,
Rowland
Hey Thanks Doug - and thanks for helping out some of my customers with the DX upgrade to the Nikon mount - great idea.
Someone here was asking about Zeiss ZF focus throw, here's what I measured.
ZF 18mm F3.5 - 90 degrees
ZF 25mm F2.8 - 325 degrees
ZF 28mm F2.0 - 120 degrees
ZF 35mm F2.0 - 110 degrees
ZF 50mm F1.4 - 220 degrees
ZF 85mm F1.4 - 255 degrees
ZF 100mm F2.0 - 345 degrees / Macro , also 28.5 mm barrel movement, in and out.
Peter.
My only complaint is that the 18mm could be a little faster but it's still very nice.
