covers super35 but does not look like will cover 5k Scarlet W, which is why they show it with Raven. There is a video interview and it is stated by the manufacturer's rep that there is a continuous ramp throughout the zoom range -- not sure how great that would be?
Lenses like this are annoying enough in photography. But in cinematography? Dear lord. Variable aperture lenses should not be allowed on any film set.
I can think of an easy way to compensate for this in a still camera in manual mode or shutter priority AE, but I'd never put one on a movie camera. It's just stupid.
Good range, but the sliding stop is a deal breaker. I'll choose the new Fuji 20-120 all day long at a constant 3.5.
I agree. If you cant design it to stay consistent, then dont make it. O
Thanks for correcting me on that. Maybe I should not make as many assumptions next time!Simply set the aperture to the slower stop, no ramping, it's constant throughout the range.
The bonus is on the wide end you get an extra 1/2 stop or so if you need it.
