  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NEW YORK TIMES " Making a Scene " 11 Short films shot & directed by Janusz Kaminski

These are brilliant! not sure why, but I lol'd at Cate Blanchett and the fish.

Love it!

Wow. I wonder if he had a good DIT getting him up to speed on how to best light for the sensor or if he kind of just "got it" intrinsically.
Thought these looked great!

these are great. inspiring. Some of my favourite filmmakers are here.

So nice to see something done so well with so little :)

Kaminski is State of Art. He really pushed the visual style forward in the last 20 years and especially in his work for Mr. Spielberg.
"Lincoln", "Catch me if you can" (an underestimated masterpiece in direction and cinematography) ... Schindler, Ryan ... yes. Of course.

Good to see Epic in this genius hand.
Very nice.

Remember maybe a year ago ago I suggested to invite Kaminski for RED shooting...

Now with DRAGON finally it happened.

Glad that RED is listening to RED Users...!!!

Really good work...

Epic MX, as far as I could see in the BTS. Someone must know (?)

I worked with someone who had been on one of these shoots, and he mentioned it was Epic...he didn't say anything about Dragon (and I'm sure he would have!)...so my guess right now is Epic.

Also, a part of me feels Jarred would have made it clear if it was Dragon...

I've been hearing rumblings of this project....one of my DIT's a couple of weeks worked on this...told me Janusz was an amazing madman to work with. Super fun, very relaxed, and had some strange, small M42 mount anamorphic lenses he was playing with. Not sure what that last part means, but I take it he was bringing "weird glass" with him, which excites me.

Can't wait to see these pieces!!

I believe the anamorphic lenses used are the Lomo 35, 50, 100 Round Fronts, with the dual PL/BNCR mount. Brent at B2PRO sub-rented these lenses from me couple months back and told me Janusz Kaminski was going to use them for a shoot. I thought maybe he was joking......
