  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New York RED users UNITE!

Missed this thread earlier as well.

Big shout out to the Off Hollywood guys. They are a great crew. Can't wait to see what they do with the first two cameras in the area.

Eagerly waiting in the wings with #39, along with Emery's #40, to get started on projectred.net. As we get closer to the release of the cameras, we'll post the shoot times and locations for people that want to learn more about the work flow.

I'm, moving down to DC this summer (June/July), looking for places to rent at the moment with my girlfriend (a TV producer at NASA) around Alexandria or Capitol Hill.

I have two feature films I'm on for as DP that are in the middle raising funds. I'm looking to rent a Red One in the area...
 
Hi Guys...#1225 here. I spoke with Kelly last week and said I should expect delivery Jan. '08.

I will be using my camera primarly as a rental so if any of you guys have a multiple camera shoot give me a holler. Getting the 18-50mm & 50-150mm. + a bunch of aks.
 
hey there NYC RED folks,

i had not found this user group until recently as life has been very busy, and i have tended to look for hard news about the gear when on this site.

i had written a long and probably off topic message that you will be happy i lost when looking for a reference in this thread.

i have #923 hopefully shipping in december, and am only unhappy that i did not get wind of RED until november of last year.

it is a pretty unique opportunity when an experienced industrial design group says to the end user group, "hey we are going to advance several generations beyond the status quo of this product, making it elite, but have grass roots pricing, do you want to participate.?"

now that we are to shortly see the fruits of RED's labor luckliy i am free for a little time and would like to participate. should any of you be meeting together or organizing test shoots etc. fill free to send an email to me.

Red is like a dream come true... I'm still reeling !

Inches away from taking the leap....be great to keep the spirit here alive.

Will be at IBC in Amsterdamn to check out RED next month.
Anyone else going? I need to chain myself to someone to keep me away from the red-light district and hash bars.... :tongue:

I am in NYC waiting on a friends to be his operator. I think his is in the 1700s. I would love to come check out any test shoots or projects to get to know this camera before it comes. :)

Hey Andrew, I'm doing great. Hips are in perfect working bionic order. Had a squeek a few months ago on a shoot but its long gone. I am soooo glad I got it done. I wouldn't be able to do half the things I do now if I didn't.

Hello New Yorkers and visitors.

I wanted to introduce myself. I am a bi-coastal DP who knows an awful lot about RED. I worked at the RED booth at the first NAB so I have been part of the RED extended family since the very early days.

I was involved in the OffHollywood shoot, so I've already shot with the cameras. Full Disclosure: I was not THE DP on the Offhollywood stunt car shoot. That was Paul McCarthy. I operated a few shots for Paul: all the HandHeld from inside the cars, as well as a riding crane shot. Otherwise I shot the stills for OffHollywood:

I did shoot a couple shots myself on Saturday and will do my best to stay involved with early testing. If any other RED owners want to hire me to shoot their features, commercials or music videos, or any early reservation holders want to do tests together, feel free to get in touch. I know OffHollywood is busy with lots of other people & projects, so it's not like I can get my hands on their cameras whenever I want.

I have also shot with the Viper and been a panelist at NAB, so I know a lot about all this fancy new camera stuff.

Count me in as another Nikon glass user.
I'm in Nyack, NY and would love to meet up with other RED users in NY. Our camera (#215) however will be bi-coastal as one of our partners lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our arsenal of Nikon AI series primes includes:
24/2.8, 28/2.8, 50/2.8, 55mm Micro, 85/1.8, 105/3.5, and a 180/2.8.

As well as several Nikon zooms:
35-70/3.5 and 24-120/3.5
