I shot a Personal Project in NY a week or two ago.. thought I would share and give you some Epic R3D's to play with.

Thanks to Brent, Derek and the whole B2pro team, Charles Andrews, and DNA and FORD Models for bringing all the pieces together.

Here is a single Frame R3D to begin. Ill post more as i go through them. All shot on Epic @ 5k

Jarred,

I love this modern take on pinup girls. There's this great blend of style with a throwback to the old style world war two pinup girl, but all with a modern look. I like that it is all set in industrial decay as well.

There are some big underlying themes there, placing pin up girls in a setting they once almost all universally represented.

Nice work.

The hard lighting reminds me of Karsh's early factory portraits.

I have a very limited knowledge of post-production, and yet I don't have any trouble making images look good in REDCine. Such a great tool. And great images, thanks for posting!

Killer shots Jarred. Where is that location?

EDIT: Is that the RED HMI beaming "UP" in the shot with the old compressors/pumps/boilers? :)

Truly beautiful. What was the concept for the project? (Just out of curiosity). Recently, I've been so wrapped up in comparing camera formats it's refreshing to see these stills that remind me why I got into this: to make art with no excuses.

thanks for sharing! what other equipment did you use?

B2pro lights, a tripod and an Epic. RED RPPs and RED 18-85mm Thats about it.

O.. we had some propane heaters as well, as it was one of the coldest days in recent NY history when we shot.

Killer shots Jarred. Where is that location?

First location is the "Frying Pan" an old decrepit boat that used to be at the bottom of the Hudson that they pulled up and parked near pier 59.

2nd location was the basement boiler room at Attic Studios in Long Island.

Hidden talent Jarred! You need to shoot more. This stuff is beautiful.
What is your approach to "taking the edge off" the detail in digital for beauty.
I doubt you use filtration. Do you do anything in the processing of the footage?
Or it could be just flawless skin and soft light.

Thanks man.. it really means alot to me. Motivating :)

As for the models looking great.. i gotta give the credit to being able to use some of the best models on the planet.

I am not a lens filter kinda guy.Remember, RED does not sharpen at all.. which gives you a pretty damn good foundation for fashion.

Great shot Jarred!

Very nice!
Thank you, Jarred!

There's also fog/haze in some shots, right?
Or is that evaporated water due to the heaters in use? :ihih:
