It should. I've had a problem with connecting a 3.5 directly to the Scarlet. When I used an XLR from the device and the XLR to 3.5 to the Scarlet it worked. So I would try it before buying it!

Hmm interesting. My Rode videomic Pro that I use for scratch audio on DSLR shoots got smashed last week and I fancied getting something else cheap and cheerful as it is purely for pluraleyes. Would be great to have a no-fuss no extra cable onboard mic.

I currently have the tiny little button mic recommended on here ages ago but it is less than useless on exterior shoots.

For cheap and cheerful I use this $4 mike into Scarlet via a Radioshack 3.5mm stereo/mono adapter plug.

Works well for scratch audio, suspect it would be fine on DSLR also

Also interested in knowing this. I read that the RODE Videomic Pro would NOT work with Scarlet / Epic due to incompatible wiring, so am wondering if this has been addressed in the new "Go".

I quite like the idea of not having to worry about another power source with the "Go". I mean, if you're only using it as a scratch mic, then it should be all you'd ever need.

The Rode video mic pro does work. You just need to get a stereo to mono plug to use before you plug it into the RED. Just used it last week and I liked it. Not sure about this model though. Worth a try before going into the wires.

It's that simple? Seems like a better way than cutting the cable, IMO.
