vlc media player will play h.264. If you have Nero 7 suite, then Nero showtime will play it also.

FWIW, the file from Jeff's site downloaded on my system as .mov.gz.mov

It showed up as a movie, but QT wouldn't recognize it. I just changed the suffix to .mov.gz and it upcompressed to .mov and now everything works fine.

Hope that helps.

I'm confused...

Has RED provided a non-Prores 2K version of CTL available for download?
I never saw a definitive answer. I recall some guy's re-encode getting nuked earlier in the week (and rightfully so). I'm sure there are a lot of PC users out there that would love to join the party. Appreciate any feedback.

Ok, it's 1920x1080 not 2k. ProResHQ 4:2:2 24fps

Things I noticed were banding in the clouds and on the fades which as others have said is more than likely down to prores. I've had banding when outputting prores previously and after adding a grain node before encode prores picked up on the detail and the banding went.

Also another thing but I'll post that in a new thread.

Conclusion, Holy S**t ... :)

Hi everyone,

Sorry to bump this thread. I'm new here and was wondering whether there was any news regards 'Crossing the Line' - new video's or interviews. I know this question has been asked alot of times but where I live there won't be any Red conferences and so I haven't had the opportunity to see the film as a whole.

Thanks
