New Video of "Crossing"...

Having just watched this trailer, the best compliment I can offer is that I completely forgot that I was watching a new digital prototype camera.

Good stuff and good work. Thanks for this preview Jim, Jared and the other Reds...

Thanks for putting the 1k Clip online, I'll be watching it in 10 minutes (currently downloading).

Also, REALLY thank you for putting up a 1k clip: in Belgium, if you take a standard broadband internet connection, you can only maximum download or upload 12 gigabyte per month... so having a 1k clip is less download, and is (for me, on this monitor and computer) still enough to look at. Loved the last 1k clip of Crossing the Line also.
Can't wait to see the full version at IBC (if I make it).

Hey, thanks a lot for the clip. That's the first time I see more than the teaser. I'll be at the IBC show in 2 weeks to see it in full 4K glory. But this clip already looks great. I can't hardly wait. Keep on posting clips like this. I think as a pro, you can realy see the quality, when you know where to look.

The potential of this cam is unbelievable and these pictures are still from alpha cams. Crazy. I know, I know, I saw the highlights clipping etc. but the overall impression is great. And the production cams will even be much better.

I'm realy looking forward to hear about the first DPs testing the cam in about 2 weeks. But I'm very shure, the cam will stand up to those tests.

So see ya at the IBC.

Oh my...

Utter beauty, I'm salivating to think I'll finally be able to see the whole film in all its 4k glory !

Thank you for this.

I keep thinking how PJ and his team shot this in two days, wow ! Inspirational.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Red for this trailer; and thanks to Curt for mirroring the trailer so I could share in the joy of seeing it.

I was looking forward to seeing the 4k version at IBC, together with the Red One, but unfortunately, we are shooting pickups and I can't make it; that's why I am so happy to see the 1k trailer posted here. It's truly awesome; I have to pinch myself sometimes to make sure I didn't dream that I ordered a Red. I know I won't be getting delivery until January 2008 but waiting is all part of the emotional experience when you buy into a dream.

Oh, yeah. It's OK :)

Wonderful, folks. Had me sufficiently awestruck. Thanks to all for the mirror links as well, as it made the painful task of downloading slightly less so.

Thanks Jeff, Jarred's bandwidth is now exceeded. much appreciated

Since there was so much drama over posting a 1K frame grab instead of 4K, I decided that we wouldn't post the new 1K trailer from Peter Jackson's "Crossing the Line" today. We had planned to, but I can see clearly that we should wait until we can figure out how to post the real 2K (2GB) Pro-res file. We probably can figure out how to do that in a week or so. I know you won't mind waiting.

Jim

The 1K is great, thanks. So will there be a 2K post too or was that just a touch of irony??? 2Gb isn't particularly onerous by bitTorrent.

Gamma Shift

Gamma Shift

I noticed on the 1k trailer of the crossing there seems to be a gamma shift at frame #785, at frame #802, at frame #859, and again at frame #1034. I've downloaded the trailer from a couple other locations, but it seems to be consistant through-out all the dl's. Has anybody else noticed this? I'm curious why the shift?

Colin
