Just saw there was a teaser up on the new Shoot35 site

http://www.budgetcameragear.com/

I actually offloaded my old Shoot35 R2 Follow focus pretty much because I needed to address just about every issue that this says it improves upon (hard stops, quickrelease etc) but I've only been using stop-gaps before buying something I intend to keep for a while.

I know Wayne is a member here and it would be lovely if he could give us an ETA and ballpark price for the unit.

Having spoken a little bit with him about it recently, my sense is that it is going to be a really good product.
He has put in some serious thinking time on it.

Looks interesting. Hope to see a review soon.

Hi Guys,

The CINEfocus r3 is at the final stage of CAD design right now, so a little way to go yet. We do hope to get it released this year, though ;)

We are planning a price point of between £350 - £400.

Ah man, you've put me in a very difficult position. Appears to be everything I want/need at the price I want to pay, plus I loved your last one back when I was DSLR-ing.

I shall hold off on purhasing as long as humanly possible. In the meantime, work really hard and really fast :)

Very nice price point. Design looks good. Should be a very nice option. Good luck.

i've been using their current FF for a few years now and it works great, no issues whatsoever. If I didn't have a wireless FF i'd probably upgrade to this unit.

Hi Guys,

I am pleased to say that CAD Design for the upcoming CINEfocus r2 Follow Focus is finished and production has started.

Both Single & Dual Sided versions will be available (single sided version is easily upgradable at a later stage).

The final price is still to be confirmed but it should be around £399.00 (GBP) ex VAT & Shipping for the single sided version and around £529.00 (GBP) ex VAT & shipping for the dual sided version. We hope to have this released in January.

Wayne your timing couldn't be worse... I waited and checked your site every week since our last conversation and with no info to hand I finally caved last week and ordered something else!

Dammit.

When will this be available? Will it work well with modded stills glass? Does it have a reversible gear for Nikons? Can we adjust what rails it goes on (15 LW, 15 STUDIO, 19 STUDIO).

thanks!!!

Hi,

Yes, the gearbox has reversible direction and is available January. it will work well with stills lenses.

It will need a 15mm to 19mm adapter to work with 19mm studio, we are working on this also :)

Wayne, you said it will work fine with DSLR lenses. Is it strong enough to deal with cine lenses, too?
