  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Sensor Technology

CIGS = PIMP

But how does light sensitivity translate into dynamic range?

Saw something like this on Yahoo! News, only they were talking about NHK Japan having a broadcast camera that shoots a (sic) million frames per second, I think. Couldn't wrap my head around that so I just let it pass. Things are happening so fast... Maybe we CAN go to Mars!

edit: went back through my brouser history looking for the article about this news and couldn't find it. I am beginning to doubt my oun veracity, so disregard this post until you see the information somewhere else.

NHK is really on the cutting edge of all this stuff, that's for sure.

Available light or night?!
Nocktisensor for Nocktilux lens (everybody knows well which it is).

Don't hold your breath for this. It would only apply to technical/industrial use. This device is only good for very low light and monochrome. Don't expect beautiful pictures out of an imager like this.

There was a hilarious comment on Gizmodo though:

CIGS, let me know when the BLUNTS chip comes out... It already has: Problem is, all the pictures that it takes of anything except junk food come out hazy and out of focus....
