Looks great on paper, but a point: If you are the one paying for the set, would not your lenses be the only ones under warranty?

I had been considering doing something similar and had called RED to test the waters.
While they have a "transfer of ownership" program for the cameras (which provides warranty protection to the buyer), I was told that program is not available for any other products that RED sells.
That means any transfer of ownership - including splitting the order - voids any warranty protection from RED for the back-buyer.
Might not be an issue for a case, but electronics and optics are more susceptible to concern.

Perhaps RED would accept multiple funding sources - did not ask that question…

at this price there should be absolutely NO considerations of any kind, since if you want to buy individual RPP's you'll end up paying 4k each for very used and rented out lenses in most cases, were here for just 100 bucks over 3k you get a practically NEW one.
