Why this difficult, cherry red and not more obvious, simpler, 100% red, standard, bloody, "pantone" red, or I should say, the Red Digital Cinema red?
Cherry doesn't match at all with my red things. Also zacuto seem to like this cherry thing. I hope they all have a good justification for diluting the red color, to convince me not to have all black, but rather two impossible to match types of red.
It was so easy not to mistake the tone...

Sliding dovetails have been around for a long time. Not only on tripod heads of various configurations (think Weaver Stedman, Ronford, Cinema Products "Hot head" and others) but on telescope side arm mounts and other uses. Not really anything to patent there.

Just go and look at any machine tools from the 1890s on. A dovetail is as common a mechanical solution to a problem as the wheel or the lever.

Yep,

On machine tools they are called gibs and ways but it is exactally the same thing in function.
