  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New: Rocket driver 1.4.32.0 & firmware 1.1.6.11

Ok, a warning guys!
I installed the patch for the Macbook Air/Retina that came out the other day last night and now my computer isn't seeing my Atto or RR cards!
I'm going to make sure that's the cause but I don't know what else it could be. :(

EDIT: After another restart my atto showed back up but the RR isn't.

EDIT:2 After restarting a bunch of times and half of them hanging up I tried reinstalling the driver, no good, then swapped the TB cable to the other port on the Magma and now the RR is showing up... So weird. Transcoding with RCX right now and will try Premier once it's finished.

Finished my last project and am sitting down to debug my RR issues. Right now its not even showing up under system profiler...
Tehben,
I'm having the same problems. One of our redrockets is not showing up in system profiler or RCX on multiple machines after the upgrade (though the Magma box is, and it shows there's something in the PCI slot). Unfortunately as a result, I can't revert to a previous firmware. The #8 DIP switch method didn't fix it. Our other card (which still has the older firmware) is working normally.

The only apparent solution is an RMA, which RED is setting up. Real bummer.

What finally seemed to work for me was plugging the TB cable into the TOP TB port on the magma instead of the bottom.... weird but (fingers crossed) so far so good.

I finally had to do a fresh install of mt lion 10.8.2 before everything worked properly again on my MBPR, I could not get the drivers to function after the update from 10.8 or 10.8.1. Additionally it took a couple restarts before the Magma T3 box, red rocket card, and LSI 9750 all worked perfectly, I beleive the TB controllers and TB cable firmware had to update.

It seems like you have to reinstall the driver everytime you update the OS.
Maybe it was just restarting a bunch of times and not using the other port, I guess I could try the first one again today and see. I also ended up putting the rocket in the middle slot of the magma.
