  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Try holding down shift while dragging the centre spot.
 
Quick and dirty build 104 notes while I have internet access for a few minutes....

Upon relaunch of build 104:
histrogram window resize not remembered
browser window user size/position not remembered
viewer resolution not remembered - always goes to 1/8

Redcine-x will not allow a drive to be unmounted once you have viewed a clip on the drive, even if a clip on the drive is no longer in the viewer, bin, timeline, etc. This makes a quick viewing of a clip on a mounted Red Drive or CF card problematic because Redcine-X must be quit in order to unmount the drive.

When I playback a clip in RedCinex build 104 w/RR, It plays fine as long as the monitor output is disabled. When I click the monitor output button and play it back it does not play the full clip. And sometimes the IMAGE, LIFT and CURVE controls won't operate. Thoughts anyone?

I agree. Is there currently an easier way to do this? There's no 'Select All Clips In Timeline' command is there? It's easier to select all clips in a bin then export those clips - but they won't have the grade on them that were in the timeline...

Can you turn on verbose logging, recreate the problem and email me the logs directory?
(userfolder/Library/Application Support/Red/Redcinex/logs)

Select all for the timeline is being added.
 
In W7 64, when exporting QT trying to set other codecs than the few allowed an error appear "cannot set allocations"?
Also, how can i tell RC that i have other codecs installed i want to transcode to (Cineform)?
 
Can someone explain the framing feature? I'm trying to crop a clip from the bottom and right, to render out to 1920x1080, but am getting bizarre results.

Great job on RedCine-X.
Some questions, 1)is there an ability to export clips with the original file name? I tried doing this in the export settings but they seem to have no connection to the actual export. It still forces me to name each clip manually.
2) Also is there going to be a feature to allow a grade in Redcine look to carry over the FCP log and transfer,or Red Rushes?

The Timeline (selected clips) bug is fixed in build 104.
We haven't been able to replicate the rcx bug yet.

The new build has an verbose logging feature (under settings).
If you can try to recreate it with verbose logging on, that should help
us solve it faster.

am trying to use redcine-x build 104 to transcode mysterium x footage and recent red one footage but no luck. all i get is black footage older red footage works just fine. any thoughts?
 
Is REDCINE-X taking advantage of all the cores when it renders?

Does it use REDLINE to render?

I know 104 is Beta but...I"m desperately working hard to enjoy my new rocket and must be doing something wrong as I'm not able to render or play with the program without it shutting the OSX down. Would appreciate help.

Hey,

I am getting these random black frames in different places in my footage when exporting.

I am running build 104 on a 2009 MBP 17" w/ Snow Leopard. The material is shot both in 4k 16:9 and 4.5 WS at REDCODE 28. Export settings are 25p 2048x1152, ProRes HQ.

Looking at rendered QuickTime proxies in FCP 7 there are no black frames in the footgage. Also no black frames when exporting from REDALERT. But this doesn't help very much since I would like to use FLUT™ and all the other good stuff in REDCINE-X 104.

Never had a problem like this before.

Solution anyone?

PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED WITH V.104

Import an entire folder: grade clips...move down to other clips....

*Sometimes the grade will be there when i go back to it
*Other times the grade is completely GONE

It is rather random. I can grade a clip, to to metadata, then back to grade and the Grade i did is then GONE....?????

A save function for the entire time you work on a clip, timeline or session would be nice to come back later---if that exists now, i am not aware. I like how you can save a file from redcine v.20 and go back later....and have all your grades etc.....

**also a small note: when i transcode to prores 422 or 444 and then import to FCP and setup up a sequence timeline to match the outputted prores from Redcine-x....i ALWAYS get a warning from FCP that my clip does not match my sequence settings. Spent all day yesterday checking clips one by one and resetting FCP....and the settings are set properly---if i say yes to match the clip settings and go back to check my original and new settigns---NOTHING APPEARS TO HAVE CHANGED....WTF?? just frustrating that i know the settings are set correctly, but FCP is telling me the clip is NOT set properly. After much experience, i'm led to believe there is something awry with the transcode from redcine to prores and although it does make the conversion, there is something apple and red don't agree upon for those transcodes---Anyone else?

**Sure, i can just say yes everytime to match the clip and sequence settings, but why won't the sequence and clip settings just match when i import the transcoded files? And this is not a random thing. Happens EVERYTIME.
