  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

new REDCINE-X feedback

When I try to play a clip that is attached to an external audio file REDCINE-X quits unexpectedly. This is happens with the both builds: 321 and 326. Only with the 64bit versions. Is anybody having this problem?

Hi Su-Jeng,

It is a bug in the 64 bit versions. Should be fixed for the next release.

I see that 326 is now by default using the camera look meta to setup a crop on my transcodes. is there a way to disable this by default?

A nice feature that could solve this problem for me as well as others, would be a way to have looks presets that can leave portions of the look to whatever the current settings are.

If I could do such a think I could just create a look preset with no cropping.. Apply my 1 light preset to the clips in the bin.. Then apply a no crop preset to my clips in a bin.. and then export..

This would also be useful so I could use a single 1 light look and apply across a range of clips where iso changes across the clips.. Currently i have to create a different look preset for each iso..

You can already create a look preset in this way -- use "Look Setup" on the Look Presets panel to apply only certain settings from a look preset. The other settings are left untouched.

Is there any way to permanently disable the red box in the viewer? (effectively setting the crop to "no crop") ...

Turn off crop in framing settings.
We're making that default in the next build.

Does RCX save save crop settings to RMD files? If so, REDLine doesn't seem to be reading them properly.

there are some crop fixes going into the next build also.

RCX 3xx has major changes in it which is why it's only on reduser for testing at the moment. All feedback is valuable so please keep sending logs and and issues to redcinex at red.

I've tried RCX 326 for 64-Bit Windows, it quits unexpectedly during (actually when start) exports, using Photo JPEG, 1280x720, QTMovie.

I am using a Mobile Rocket for transcoding with RCX 351 to Avid DNxHD36 1080 x 1920 23.98 fps. Every ten to twenty clips RCX crashes, quitting unexpected. Any idea what could be causing this? Has anyone had success doing large batches for Avid on build 351?

As I wrote in my mail to redcinex box....
The curve tool reacts sometimes strange... if I click on the lowest point and move it, sometimes the mids do it also and vice versa....
A very nice thing would be to reset the color wheels individually... a small x on every wheel would be great....
When working with a mouse, a finer adjustment of the gamma/gain/shift values would be great....
If we working with PDlog685 or RedlogFilm it would be really nice to apply custom LUTs for log to lin conversion.... the 95/685 LUT from Apple's color for example fits really nice in mga format, so applying it in redcine-x would be really nice.....

thx for all....
Rainer

The curve behavior is intentional in order to keep the curve from being invalid and folding back on itself.

REDlog Film linearizes with a standard cineon log2lin transform.
I'm not sure about color but the one in nuke works nicely.
