  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Red Rocket?

I think they mean that the mfg is coming out with one that accom the RR.
Sonnet did the same with theirs by supplying an SDI plate that replaced other PCI cards.
Nice of them since it transferred over to a Magma set-up :)
 
This is just an expansion chassis. It comes with no PCI cards in it. The current one is a 1/2 length slot. They will release another version that can FIT a rocket in it (as this one can not) for $699. You still need a rocket to put in it.
 
A special redrocket sound like a new card. But i would think its just a writer that know nothing on the subject. Hope im provedwrong.
 
I highly doubt there is a new RR.

But then what do I know :)
 
This was a very disappointing thing.. I was SO READY to finally pull the trigger on 2 RRs.. But then realized the pricing was not for them, bu the case. Red Rockets need to get a lot cheaper for a number of reasons. Prices were lowered on the Camera bodies due to savings and a desire to increase the user base

Getting the Rocket price way down would go even further to accomplishing that goal.

The way i read it is mLink is coming out with a RR expansion chassis that will hold RR for $699. Must be a full length chassis to fit. I don't read that there will be a new RR. I guess I can see how one could read it that way though.
 
Jeez... One slightly awkward sentence and you guys go nuts. The mLink chassis have been long-delayed and talked about a bunch on the forums here. The model specific to the RED Rocket has SDI ports integrated and is very compact. Hopefully with their smaller model now shipping, the Rocket-specific model will be arriving soon.
 
RED is evaluating potential replacements for the Rocket card. That's all we know and all we're gonna know until or after Dragon is ready for deployment.
