  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WOW! That's great. That banner looks so awesome!

Nice! Now let me be selfish and want a shot from the bone I'm looking for... S35 Scarlet proto with one of the new 1.8t lenses? :)

Not sure if this was shot with one of the S35 primes or not, but here's Enzo at 5K. Shot with Frankie 2.

And I know there's a nice, angry picture of Jarred from Frankie 2 somewhere. lol

What other focal lengths would you like to see? We are considering a 14mm and a 21mm. Thoughts?

Jim

I'm looking forward to using them.

The 18mm is really the most urgently missing lens. Then a 14mm and 21mm is great. A 40mm and 180mm would be great as well.

Wow... stunning! is all I can say really and the fact that its shot on a prototype as well... double wow.

A Question

A Question

I had asked the question on another thread but ….

I have the same question that Brook Willard had; Is the area covered by the New Lenses System, the 30mm x 15mm area of the expected Mysterium – X?

Jarred Picture

Jarred Picture

The exterior metalwork looks very similar to the lenses Joe Dunton has produced over the years such as the re-mounted Cookes series 3 or the Xtal Express Anamorphic lenses apart from the Red logos & rear caps.

Joe Dunton has re-engineered many lenses in the past including the Leica M & R lenses which he did long before many others jumped on the bandwagon.

Actually for digital photography its more important to have the frequency of the lenses designed specifically a high T stop is not so important as it is for film albeit one exhibits grain the other noise in low light situations. The sweetspot i.e. whether that is T2.8, T4 or T5.6 etc is the true telling character of a lens as at 1.8 /1.9 the DOF is almost non existant and narrating a complete film wide open would truely test your audience because we dont see life like that naturaly.

Judging by the eyeglass reflection I'd guess it's OFF. I smell non-working mockup :(

Today I think I might have been wrong. But what that means is GOOD.

Question: was Lucky shot with any of the shown real brains or with some kind of frankie rig?

I guess there's a team developing the sensor in one of these open rigs and another group prototyping the modular system's ergo and modules in general. But we can't know at what stage of integration you are yet... I'm just happy the 2/3 scarlet is alive :)
